Body of Man Found Buried in Quarry in Itapetinga, Brazil
Itapetinga, Bahia, Brazil – The decomposing body of Fábio Marreco dos Santos, 36, was discovered buried in a quarry within a dense forested area. His face was so badly disfigured that authorities initially struggled to identify him.
According to the police, dos Santos was kidnapped after his home was invaded in the early hours of last Saturday. Investigators suspect that he may have been targeted by criminals after allegedly reporting a nearby drug trafficking hotspot.
Authorities are currently conducting a forensic examination and pursuing leads on those responsible for the gruesome murder.
