On the morning of August 1st, Ecuador’s National Police discovered dismembered human remains in four abandoned sacks along the secondary highway to Jauneche, near the Peñafiel de Abajo area in Mocache canton. A forensic analysis by the Criminalistics team confirmed that the remains belonged to three men, approximately 25 years old.
Two of the victims have been identified as cousins from the Rivas family, residents of El Empalme in Guayas province. Authorities believe these individuals were directly linked to the July 27 massacre in El Empalme, where 17 people were killed in a brutal armed assault on a local business.
The dumping site appears to be a deserted secondary location, suggesting the murders may have occurred elsewhere. Investigations are ongoing to determine the precise crime scene and identify those responsible for this grisly act of violence.
This shocking discovery adds to growing concerns about escalating brutality and organized crime in the region.
