QUITO, Ecuador – Six men who were kidnapped hours earlier by armed individuals wearing balaclava masks and uniforms resembling those of police and military forces were discovered shot dead and burned next to a Hyundai vehicle, relatives and authorities confirmed.
The five identified victims are Jeisson AVM (19), Fabio AMV (44), Carlos FVM (23), Rody ROZ (31), and Ramón MMP (33). The sixth victim remains unidentified.
All bodies showed multiple gunshot wounds consistent with ballistic evidence. At the scene, investigators recovered ten 9mm casings and one .40 caliber projectile, along with firearms.
Ecuadorian authorities continue to investigate the massacre amid a surge in gang-related violence.
