Suspected Boko Haram militants launched a late-night assault on a military base in Ngoshe community, Gwoza Local Government Area, Borno State, around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. After targeting the military position, the attackers moved into the residential area, killing an undetermined number of civilians and abducting several women.
A graphic video circulating online shows the insurgents mocking and playing with severed human heads following the attack.
