A 37-year-old suspect linked to the murder of 18-year-old Sara Cristina Ferreira de Souza was arrested on Wednesday in Porto Seguro, in Bahia’s Extreme South, during the second phase of Operation Desova by Civil Police.
The victim’s headless body was found on September 8, 2025, on a rural road in Vera Cruz, Porto Seguro. Nine days later, one of her limbs was discovered in rural Santa Cruz Cabrália. Investigations revealed she was tortured and mutilated, with six fingers ripped off, leaving only two on each hand, along with multiple stab wounds.
The suspect was taken into custody on a warrant from the Itabuna court, with documents and electronic devices seized for analysis.
