At least seven people were killed in a violent head-on collision between a small truck and a large truck on highway PE-360 between Floresta and Ibimirim in Pernambuco, Brazil. The small truck was completely destroyed, while the large truck burst into flames after the impact. Preliminary reports indicate the crash occurred in the truck’s lane.
The small truck belonged to Petrolândia’s “Home Treatment” program and was transporting patients to medical appointments in Arcoverde. It departed Petrolândia with nine people on board — eight patients and the driver — and had picked up an additional driver en route. Six women and one man were confirmed dead, with their bodies scattered at the scene.
