In a brutal daylight attack, a couple was shot dead while having lunch at a restaurant in San Juan de Miraflores, a district in Lima, Peru. Eyewitnesses reported that two assailants arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire, discharging at least seven bullets before fleeing the scene.
Authorities have identified the victims as 37-year-old Peruvian national Elizabeth T.I. and Renzo A.B., a Venezuelan national. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, but investigators are treating the case as a targeted hit. A yellow and black mototaxi, believed to belong to the murdered woman, was discovered near the crime scene.
Preliminary reports suggest the attackers may have used a stolen motorcycle to escape. Some witnesses claimed the suspects were of Venezuelan origin, though this has not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
