UPDATE: Woman’s Dismembered Body Found in Garbage Dump, Ex-Fiancé, 71, Arrested in Kota Kinabalu
KOTA KINABALU, Sabah, Malaysia – The dismembered remains of a 44-year-old woman were discovered at a garbage dump by sanitation workers during routine collection. Further search led to the recovery of her head and torso at a nearby location.Police believe the victim was murdered by her 71-year-old former fiancé. The couple had been engaged, but the woman reportedly spent around RM7,000 (approximately USD1,800) of the suspect’s money before breaking off the engagement and marrying someone else.Despite the split, they maintained contact. The victim was allegedly lured to the suspect’s house, where he is believed to have killed her with a parang (machete) and dismembered her body.The 71-year-old man and his son, who was present at the scene, have both been arrested.
