Ipu, Ceará – A tragic accident occurred on Wednesday night, January 29, when 30-year-old Paulo Vinícius de Sousa was fatally struck by a train in Ipu, Ceará, approximately 295 km from Fortaleza. The incident took place at the border of the Corte and Pereiros districts, leaving the victim’s body severely mutilated.
According to a family member, Paulo Vinícius had been battling depression and had previously attempted suicide twice, including an attempt to jump into a well. Before his struggles, he worked for a distribution company in the city. His death has shaken the local community, with many gathering at the accident site. Authorities, including the Municipal Guard, Traffic Police, and Military Police, secured the scene, while the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) transported the body to the Pefoce Forensic Center in Crateús for examination.
