Bangkok, Thailand — The dismembered body of Aye Aye Nwe, a 34-year-old Myanmar citizen working as a waitress in a Klong Toey bar, was found inside a black plastic box on the rear balcony of a rented room. Police and rescue teams were called after neighbors reported a strong foul odor.
The victim’s abdomen was slashed open. Her head, hands, and lower legs remain missing, with police checking the apartment’s septic tank and drainage system for additional remains.
Her husband, Aung Pyae, 36, a bar chef, is suspected of murdering and dismembering his wife. He was reportedly under stress in the days before the discovery. Surveillance footage from Unit 10 captured him fleeing the scene in an agitated state while carrying a large black bag.
Thai authorities issued an arrest warrant and coordinated with Myanmar police, who detained Aung Pyae in Yangon. Extradition proceedings to Thailand are underway.
