A gruesome discovery shocked residents in the northern part of the city early Tuesday morning, February 17, when the lifeless and severely mutilated body of a man was found in the Canchancha area near Lago Country urban development.
According to preliminary reports and eyewitness accounts at the scene, the victim was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident. The horrifying extent of the tragedy became clear as the body had been dragged approximately 200 meters along the road, from near Dr. Adolfo Pons Hospital to the entrance of Phase Three of Lago Country, leaving the corpse heavily abraded and torn.
