A brutal shooting incident in the heart of Itabuna city left two people dead and two others injured on Sunday morning (June 8, 2025). The attack unfolded on Rua D, where a masked assailant opened fire on a man, hitting four victims in total. According to eyewitness reports, the gunman fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
One of the deceased was identified as 44-year-old Sirlane Oliveira da Silva, while the other victim’s identity remains undisclosed. The two injured men were rushed to nearby hospitals by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu), but their current health conditions are unknown.
The 15th Battalion of the Military Police secured the area for the Technical Police Department (DPT) to conduct a thorough investigation. The 6th Regional Interior Police Coordination (Coorpin/Itabuna) has launched an official inquiry into the shooting.
