In Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, a 19-year-old man, João V., suspected of mental health issues, was lynched by a local ‘crime court’ after allegedly stabbing his mother, 47-year-old evangelist Nádia R.A., nine times in the neck. Nádia, who also suffered defensive wounds on her hands, was attacked upon returning home. Another woman, identified as ‘Dani,’ was injured and hospitalized. João fled but was captured, beaten by enraged locals, and killed in a wooded area. Relatives revealed João’s history of untreated psychotic episodes, expressing fears he would harm his mother.
