LUBUKLINGGAU – A man identified only as DK was killed after being struck by a regular passenger train on the Palembang-Lubuklinggau line on Sunday afternoon (March 29, 2026).
The accident occurred near RT 01, Mesat Seni village, East Lubuklinggau II district, close to the victim’s home.
Witnesses said the man was seen using his mobile phone on the railway tracks and appeared unaware that the train was approaching. The impact was severe, dragging his body approximately 200 meters along the tracks.
Residents nearby panicked upon hearing screams and rushed to the scene. Some tried to assist while others called the police. A witness described the incident as happening very quickly, with the victim unable to move out of the way in time.
The gruesome scene left body parts scattered across the tracks.
