SOROCABA, Brazil – A tragic accident claimed the life of a 69-year-old man on Thursday, March 20, 2025, after he was struck and killed by a highway bus on Avenida Barão de Tatuí in Sorocaba. The fatal collision, which occurred around 1:20 PM, left the victim dead at the scene despite efforts by the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) to intervene. Authorities reported that the elderly pedestrian was hit while attempting to cross the avenue, resulting in a gruesome outcome that shocked onlookers. One lane of the busy road, heading from the suburbs to the city center, was immediately closed, causing significant traffic disruptions.
