Early Wednesday morning, around 5:40 a.m., motorists discovered a severely mangled, unrecognizable human body dumped in a roadside ditch along National Route 1 (General Cañas highway), near the Castella Conservatory between Heredia and Alajuela, Costa Rica.
The corpse, described as crushed into a pile of meat, was reported to authorities by passing drivers. Agents from the Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) responded to the scene and confirmed the victim is a young Honduran male.
The remains have been transferred to the judicial morgue for autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The investigation remains ongoing.
