Three Suspects Arrested in Brutal Cambodia Murder Over Palm Wine Grudge

Dead male, Gore, Murder

Cambodia police on Friday morning arrested three men in connection with the brutal murder of 47-year-old P.L. The attackers burst into the victim’s home, viciously hacked him and slit his throat using a sickle and a meat cleaver. Police later recovered the weapons from a giant water storage jar outside the residence, along with a phone and other belongings inside a bag.

The suspects — C.P. (also known as Tei), 25, S.S., 29, and S.R., 52 — were quickly arrested and confessed to the killing. All three live in the same village as the victim. They told authorities the motive was a long-standing personal grudge stemming from ongoing heated arguments during palm wine drinking sessions. The victim reportedly disrespected and provoked them repeatedly, fueling severe resentment.

The three men are being prosecuted for premeditated murder under Article 200 of the Cambodian Penal Code, which carries a mandatory penalty of life imprisonment.
